Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The service was also stellar, our server was super nice and answered all our question. The restaurant was also quite beautiful and modern. Highly recommend this place for a nice lunch or a date night.
My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner at Taku. It was our first time and they were very accommodating (we brought our baby) and even gave us a complimentary little sushi bite. Our waitress was fantastic and I loved the atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back again soon!
Came across Taku while exploring Salem with an out of state friend. Delighted by the quality, taste, and creativity of the menu. Our server Julie was attentive and made excellent suggestions, particularly the chili garlic hamachi and the Suzuki carpaccio. The chili garlic wasn't too spicy but overflowed with flavor while still showalcasing the freshness of the fish, and the truffle on the Suzuki carpaccio was an enticing complement to the dish. The salmon on fire is theatrical, and the raspberry sauce it comes with adds a wonderful, light, sharp contrast to the smokiness and fattiness of the salmon. Julie also made great suggestions for pairing sake with our dishes. Overall, best sushi I'd had in Massachusetts and a reasonable fraction of the cost of some other places
My husband and I ate here last night (Saturday) and arrived around 6:30 and luckily there were two vacant stools at the bar. The place was hopping! Colby, the bartender was warm and friendly and made me their special sake ginger margarita garnished with a fresh mint leaf. Michael drank an IPA but it was in a can because they do not have beer on tap. Colby did pour it into a chilled glass though so that good. We ordered the soft shell crab roll, baked oysters over slaw, unagi roll and some special salmon roll. All were delicious. I also had a cup of miso soup which was yummy. The music overhead was awesome. A nice medley of classics; Carly Simon, Elton John, Eric Clapton and The Eagles! We will definitely be back.
I Love everything about Taku Sushi Bar in Beverly, MA This gem shines with its clean, spacious dining areas, inside and outside seating. The expansive menu offers a delightful variety of dishes and sushi at reasonable prices with generous portions. The owner Chef Jerry’s personal touch, such as preparing a specialty dish for us like the Grilled Salmon Truffle Crostini, truly sets this place apart. The quality of food is exceptional, fresh and tender with so much flavor in every bite. I thoroughly enjoyed the Salmon Teriyaki dinner, miso soup, and Spider Maki. I can’t leave out the exceptional service from waitress Jasmine which only added to the wonderful experience. It's no surprise that Taku Sushi Bar is the top-rated sushi restaurant in Beverly, MA. Don't miss out on this outstanding dining destination! I Highly Recommend!
Our family had a delicious dinner here!!! Sorry we didn’t get pics of the chicken teriyaki, miso soup and house ginger salad. Such a perfect evening. We didn’t call ahead so we sat outside, but it was starting to cool down outside and wasn’t too bad. Dogs are allowed on the patio. Such a wonderful atmosphere. Very attentive service, though never overwhelming. Kid friendly. Food was fresh and delicious. We loved everything and will definitely be back!
Outstanding and exceptional dine in service. Props to Jerry the owner and Head chef for always serving the guests in the most satisfactory way at possible. Never disappoints. Best Sake sashimi around as well!
This place is top tier omakase quality at local sushi bar prices. It's unreal. Both of the truffle Maki rolls are my favorite rolls of all time out of every sushi spot I've ever been to. The Maki cover also goes nuts, and the green tea is just so pleasing to the palette. Everything here is expertly crafted with so much care and attention to detail. I'm grateful for this place. ***UPDATE*** It's been almost 2 years since my initial review above and I have so much more good things to say! First off, everything I already said still stands to this very day. My two favorite rolls are still both forms of the truffle maki roll. Elite. Consistent. The best. Another dish that became an instant favorite is the yaki udon with beef. Holy smokes Holy Ghost. This is one of the best noodle dishes I've ever had. It's for sure the best udon dish I've had thus far. The beef is perfectly tender, the wealth of vegetables perfectly cooked and fresh2death, and the whole thing completely enveloped in the most flavorful sweet/savory sauce that is harmonious to the taste buds. You need this. My wife is obsessed with their love handroll. Their hand rolls go hard. They're like packed packed —with their top tier ingredients at that. This one is filled with melt-in-your-mouth Toro with a nice crunch from the tempura embedded inside. Texture and taste on lock. I've also tried their katsu, takoyaki, and karaage. Literally all executed perfectly with so much love and care you could almost taste it. I'm convinced you can’t go wrong with any dish from here, and none of them feel heavy or leave you feeling icky in the slightest. Chef Jerry don't play. Their new location is soooo nice, clean, classy, and tastefully furnished. More than that, it's bigger and includes outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Their staff is also very warm and are just some of the most pleasant people. This has always been true and continues with their growing staff. Our OG waitress Janely gets a special shout out because she takes the time to recognize regulars, is super sweet, and is basically our friend at this point. Also, my wife apparently came in on a weekday afternoon and they had given her a complimentary experimental dessert that she LOVED. She mentioned this mythical dessert to Janely during our last visit and she let Chef Jerry know, and he did his best to recreate it for us. It was legit. It was an egg based dessert dish. Think of a Japanese rolled omelette delicately rolled with something that was like maple, paired with the ripest momoyama (mountain peach). Insane. The hospitality is Abrahamic level. This place is the best. Become a regular here and catch me inside.
